yickdaz
First 2 weekends out since the start of the GL nonsense, field of triticale went down in the bad weather we had few weeks ago you will see from the pics how much of it is flat, good numbers on and good flightlines to it, they had only just found it last weekend so we had 3 hrs on it for 37 picked 30, planned another go today set up earlier this time around 12.30 looked really promising but with all the flat areas birds could drop in anywhere they wanted to and it's quite a Big Field had loads pass wide of us without even a look, then later on in the day they started pulling to another small field of flat triticale bordering a horse paddock back side of the farm so that slowed things even more where we set up we packed up at 5pm it had gone dead managed 50 picked 42 Edited June 29, 2019 by yickdaz

Old Boggy
One of my farms has three small fields of triticale for the first time this year, but so far none laid, but will keep an eye on it. Consequently I've never shot over triticale, but it looks like the shooting could be as good as laid barley. OB

motty
Good bags, Daz. I have also never shot over that crop, as far as I am aware.

It's nothing special , it's a hybrid of wheat and rye, the pigeons don't know the difference 👍
