Mark One BSA Meteor with BSA Mk.1 telescope. Dad bought me one for Christmas in 1961. Meteor was £9.45 and the scope was £2.10. Total £11.55p. Dad earned £10 per week then. figgy
Nice pic, very good of your dad money well spent as you still have it.
London Best
Not the same one, unfortunately Mr. Figgy. I parted with the first one about 1965, regretted it and bought another which I kept until about 1972. The current one is the second one I have had purely for collection purposes. I collect older BSA’s up to Mk.2 Airsporter. Unusually, this Meteor has a .22 serial number stamped on the barrel but is a .177. And it chrono’s hobby’s at 800 FPS! figgy
Sweet, how accurate is it? Some were very good.
London Best
Not shot it much but seems as accurate as any other Meteor. It seems quite harsh though, so may have had an “expert” inside it. To be honest I bought it on impulse to replace another Mk 1 in the collection as it’s in VGC . Very nice, and different, not sure many could take that sort of pic, some tinsel on the horns and boom. @Walker570 come on nev, can you beat this for its uniqueness? Walker570
None of those look very Christmassy but I hope to produce something a little more festive nearer the day.
London Best
I do hope this is not going to turn into a willy waving contest! If it does, I’m out! PS The Blue Wildebeest bull was not shot with the Meteor either,

figgy
Many Holly bushes round my way have none or very few berries. Two in the garden hedge are bare. Bad weather at wrong time I think.
London Best
Getting a little more ‘festive’ now. 1905 First Batch BSA, serial num. 1570, with home made aperture sight. Very accurate, won many a pineapple at bell target. Oh, eight different single malts and a bottle of cooking whisky. Very nice, but your confusing me, I'm getting torn between the whiskeys and the classic rifle. Looks to be in fantastic condition for her age
