tikkamark
Hello all i was going to put this up last night but was around 4am and i started to drift off as i was writing this johngalway i dont know how you do it I went out for a ramble with my mate thomas our intended destination was a good few acres of oilseed rape fields that our gun club has got permission in great spot for a cock pheasant or two but some of the lads were saying the numbers of pheasants there are taking a hammering from our red friend On our way to that spot i said we should try one spot with a nice big hill overlooking a plantation of ash and pine we had see some a week or two ago there during the day as we sent a group of dogs through the plantation but two big foxes got away id swore i will catch up with them with lamp after that incident :yp: We walked in over the brow of the hill and there was 3 foxes :o They were very edgey put my mate gave a blow of a mouse squeek call and in like a train they came one came to about 80yrd and i squeezed on centre of its chest dropped like a rock i quickly worked the bolt and got on to the second fox who was standing there froze to the spot probably wondering what the **** happined his buddy he turned and ran about 30 yrds away and foolishly looked back aimed at shoulder....crack thump worked the bolt and amazinly fox no three was still looking at us t8 is worth it weight in gold! the last lad was standing in a dodgy spot on the crest of a hill so we waited and the fox luckly followed the same path as his two dead chums it walked up to one of the dead foxes and started to sniff at it i didnt need an invitation to fire as these foxes would seriously hurt pheasant numbers i aimed at hus shoulder long and hard and dropped him two all the foxes were hit spot on i would not have got the second two without a mod heres them 3 We headed on up the road to the oilseed field as we pulled up at the gate i shined the lamp in and there was a fox sitting up on a bale it jumped down upon seeing the lamp and headed up the field which is very big.I grabbed the rifle loaded up and mate got battery pack and off we went to a nice hill overlooking the field i rested the gun on a bale two foxes were in the field but were very tricky to see in the scope as the stubble was about 2 foot high my mate squeeked one right in to about 20yards but could barely see it it knew what we were at so ran back up the field to a spot where stubble was slightly shorter it sat down chest up straight was a nice distance away so i really took mine time with the shot squeezed usual crack fox disappeared from scope with the recoil then a full 2 to 3 seconds later THUMP nice one We were heading in to pick up that vixon and there is the second further down the tram line sitting looking around all i could see was her head but i was very steady off the bale so i took a shot very high pitch thump this time as the bullet took foxies head with it VERY happy with my t3 now hits them spot on everytime and i think i have found its favorite food a.e50grns the fox i shot in the head was exactly 150yrds away and the first one was 220yrds out distances got using lecia rangemaster 800 brilliant tool Forgot to mention throughout all that it was raining fairly heavy so we headed home very happy heres the second two as you can see head was in bits on that second vixon

tikkamark
Well done yet again mark - craking write up an an excellent result for a night out - i have had 6 this week, with the best shot of the week last night - cracking shot to the head at about 90 yrds. Thanks tulky it was an excellent result very happy with that amount we got and they all were in areas that they are doing a lot of damage so well chuffed i didnt miss any of them and even better that all were killed stone dead no messing I only take head shots myself when im very steady and when its not to windy but some feeling when you pull it off Rabogoat the mouse call my mate was using was operated by blowing into it so you can vary the volume its one of the best calls i have heard in a good while

Keep it up Mark. Frank. There is still plenty for john and conor if they are down we were only out for about two and a half hours last night and i shot all the foxes we came across that was just two seperate spots out of about thirty spots that no-one else really shoots so i have it all to myself :o As for them woodies frank daniel has them all i think it was 140 or 150 but if you ask him nicely im sure he would give you a few as he has a serious heap of goat meat to keep him going Pity you wernt a bit closer i could supply you with a load of rabbits and woodies as soon as i shoot them

Tell me about it john there used to be a good few lads that went lamping with me but most either fell in love or are drinking every night of the week always some excuse The chap i was with for these pics is very reliable he would go out anytime at a moments notice and is very good at outsmarting the fox by choosing the right fields to go to cut the fox off Thanks magman
