moongeese
Sitting looking through some old Shooting Times Magazines, as storm Dennis is hitting my windows, I came on this advert for Colin Willocks single punt, and his Double Barrel Four Bore, as used in his book "The Punt Gun Adventure " £75 No Offers . I wonder what it would fetch now, in this day, and age. Or this had me drooling a cased double barrel muzzle loading 9-bore with all tools etc.
panoma1
Wonder where they are now?

Pushandpull
The punt and gun were separated, and the punt stored in a bus depot. Willock seems to have lost interest. Eventually the boat was sold to the South Solway area where it was modified somewhat and used with a 1 1/4" gun. Apparently the boat was very light and a bit lively on firing. Eventually the owner died or gave up. The gun went via auction to East Anglia and the punt to the Dumfries area. This must have been some 12 or more years ago. The outfit was used but not owned by a chap who posted (and still does) as lsdt01on the now nearly defunct Wildfowling Forum.

Pushandpull
Not sure I follow that comment harrycatcat, as you seem to have been posting out there in the wilderness pretty recently.
enfieldspares
It's odd how some things however haven't increased that much at all. In fact given infaltion they've actually lost money. That BSA boxlock ejector at £60.00 can be found in the auction houses at not much more than £100 to £150 in 2020.
Pushandpull
Big shoulder guns didn't make a lot back then. I can remember a dealer having a single 4 for sale for £20 in 1962 and simply not having the cash. You would have paid more for a cheap imported 12 bore then. I couldn't get on this morning and it wasn't even on view so I thought that it was over. I think it would be a shame for it to finish even though it is as you say a wilderness.
