In one repect, you have to admire these guys -  they really shouldn't be underestimated - and they reflect the difference between some of us and themselves. Sometimes when faced with a comment which goes home, we either ignore it or respond with a totally irrelevant and/or inane remark. Either that or an insult. These guys just have a nasty habit of getting even so laughing at them because we got one over on them - or so we thought - is not a wise option as is now apparent.

You're absolutely right. That really is something the organisation need to visit. Can you imagine the reactions from the hoi polloi if WJ found out and let slip that a baggable bird is one with a broken wing and dead within 5 minutes. As soon as they say it, the damage is done and it makes very little difference where that came from and as to how we follow it up.

Don't we have pricked birds covered by the use of trained gun dogs.

We shouldn't give up before we have tried .

B.A.S.C and N.G.O AND THE LIKE are the ones to come up with a stratagem  cos I look to them to be more educated   than me they should act more like generals and not Public relations officers . I personally am as thick as a brick but look towards others to lead I will back up to the hilt any actions put forward as long as I see the merit in it.

Below is averys reasoning as to why gamebirds should not be released, non native [been here since Roman times] provide prey and carrion [yes for BOP, other desirable animals and invertebrates] Are these predators the same as the ones he wants protected ? It reads like it was written by a child "gobbling up and pecking at the veg"

Without crowd funding there would be no court cases because this freak wouldn't be reaching into his very large pocket to pay

Dr Mark Avery:  These non-native gamebirds go around gobbling up insects,  other invertebrates and even snakes and lizards, they peck at vegetation, their droppings fertilise sensitive habitats which no farmer would be allowed to fertilise and they provide prey and carrion that swell the populations of predators that then go on to prey on other threatened species. And the biomass of Pheasants and Red-legged Partridges exceeds that of all native UK birds put together. This is a very serious ecological assault on the countryside which government is failing to assess and regulate.

Well, yes. That will be read by the more gullible and also the youngsters who will accept it in view of the fact that they read it and will believe it knowing no better having had little or no opportunity to hear an alternative viewpoint and which are, of course, his targets ready and primed for when they get to vote.
