BADGER.BRAD
Hello all, I have a cheap SMK .177 break barrel pistol which I have a bit of fun with in my workshop ( 6 meter shots max) I was thinking of buying something a little better but have seen people using tele sights are these worth using ? I imagine it to be a little difficult to see the cross hairs at arms reach ?
Ultrastu
I have a crosman pump up pistol that wears a 2x scope it certainly improves the accuracy of a already inherently accurate gun . Epescially if you can rest it on something .
Walker570
Yes it does in my experience and not difficult to see the cross hairs. I long eye relief scope is required. Have shot one or two big pistol calibres in the USA fitted with scopes and certainly rested or on bypod you can get seriously accurate. I did have a long eye relief scope but last year a member on here purchased it from me. Edited March 16, 2020 by Walker570
GingerCat
For plinking at that sort of range then a red dot site might be more fun.
BADGER.BRAD
Thanks everyone, I'm thinking of going for the Crossman 2240 not sure whether to go for the rifle/pistol kit or just the pistol. I already have a couple of rifles but must admit some of the custom stuff is great.

BADGER.BRAD
I don't have a scope at the moment for it, I did think of trying my BSA 4X32 scope from one of my rifles just as an experiment. The Iron sights are o.k for plinking but not great for targets, this is not helped as the rear sight moves every time you touch it.

If you use a rifle scope you will need to bring the pistol close to your face so the end of the scope is only a few inches away from your eye. A pistol scope is designed to be viewed about 16 to 20 inches away.
BADGER.BRAD
Thanks for that, I've looked at pistol scopes but unfortunately they are more expensive than the gun so I think I'll stick to plinking !

GuitarDan
LOL mine was £89 and I still cant use it, eye relief is not sufficient for my old eyes.
