washerboy
These were the go to pellet when I first started seriously hunting with an air rifle 35 years ago. Never tried them in. 177 in sub 12 ftlbs. I did use the very loopy. 22 variety with obviously poor results unless really close. Are they still worth trying in. 177 in a spring gun. Ultrastu
Ive done a lot of work with bismags over the years .testing them and looking at performance etc . They are great in pcps .as they often produce high energy and great accuracy .with good penetration and energy retention . However . In springers the exta weight and head and skirt size .coupled with a firm lead compound can often rob the gun of energy producing maybe 9 fpe .where as a lighter pellet may produce 11 fpe . Some springers are more prone to this effect than others. The worse effected tend to be short barrel guns with shorter compression tubes and a lot of spring preload example would be . Bsa lightening . Hw 30 hw99 Tx200 hc Guns with longer barrels and longer tubes with a softer spring will shoot a wider range of pellets at similar energies and poi .examples Hw95 hw 80 hw 35 Bigger webleys and hatsans etc . Hope this helps
washerboy
I did shoot some heavyweight pellets through my 177 hw95 and as you said they only just made 9ftlbs. Does this low ft lbs make for a less bouncy harsh recoil I wonder?

figgy
I used them a lot years ago.in a .22 BSA, my Daystate likes them in .177 but I have lots of jsb heavies to use before I buy any. If your gun likes them use them.
