Stuart.shot
So what calls seem to be doing the business at the moment to get Charlie's attention.

washerboy
This time of year, just about anything. I have a brass disc type that works. Also a plastic Reed call also good.
ninjaferret
Use what god gave you, a finger, just practice till you get it, don't bother wasting money on calls. I shoot a hundred foxes or more every year and never use a call other than my finger.
FOXHUNTER1
Foxpro is the way to go as have a variety of calls for different times of the year. At the moment cub distress call is good. Being able to change the call often brings in foxes that totally ignore the usual rabbit squeal which they've heard many times.
Bumble
I’ve found the Faulhaber hen call to work a treat on cubs at the moment. Just enough of a squeak to get them running in, but not so loud as to scare them.
Eddie B
Years ago, we used the squeak out of old toys. Worked very well. As was already mentioned, using the palm of your hand, or your finger, is hard beat.
foxbuster
Calling by hand is great......but I find remote call is best for getting the fox to the area you want it. You can set up somewhere under cover and call the fox to the callers location. I have a few locations where I sit up on silage bales and call with remote, nice and comfy and great vantage point. And the call I find best this time of year is actually the hand squeak sound....although played through the speaker.
