steve_b_wales
Has anyone got the above? I'm thinking of getting the 4k one and ending my contract with SKY.
Vince Green
Don't know Steve, it wouldn't work for us because for both our places (London and Cornwall) we are not allowed to fix anything to the outside of the building. ph5172
We have had freesat for about 10 years. We have a smart box with the on demand players - the only one it doesn’t have is 4od that was removed a few years ago. You can use the sky box as a feeesat box but you loose the record function. I did a fair bit of research and dropped for a HUMAX box as the best of the bunch. This was a few years ago so may well have changed
Sussexboy
You don’t get C4HD on freesat either.

fizzbangwhallop
I’ve been on freesat for more than 10years now and originally bought a couple of Panasonic telly’s with an internal freesat tuner..... No record function so I added a couple of Humax boxes over the years. I was on ntl/virgin cable tv so there was no satellite system on the house....bought the dish etc and the cable and ran ‘shotgun’ cables into 4 rooms... so I can record one channel and watch another on the Humax twin tuners. (I’m guessing that the standard Sky cable is shotgun too) Whichever system you end up with there’s still a load of toot on the telly, feels better that you’re not paying for it though 😆
ph5172
We have no tv signal so rely solely on freesat All the bedrooms have smart TVs and run on demand or Netflix

Saves buying a box , but if you wish to record one channel and watch another then you need a freesat box with a hard drive to record . Then your looking at nearly £ 200.
