JohnfromUK
Many on these forums have suspected that the 'antis' are falsifying evidence. Well, now there has been a conviction; https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/news/leicester-news/hunt-saboteur-sentenced-giving-police-4526498 More background here; https://countrysquire.co.uk/2020/09/26/a-faker-convicted-at-long-last/?fbclid=IwAR2vSLVXVmO6QrqfEEyClFM--yRXPjpF8N6HxevaMbNeqmpit-nr1hlVSKY
old'un
If the boot was on the other foot the antis would be plastering this all over the place and possibly getting a slot on GMB with Packham as their front man.
Newbie to this
Surely he cannot record on privately owned property, there must be an offence there as well. Edited September 26, 2020 by Newbie to this

No, afraid not. The UK legislation around CCTV centres around the human rights act and the right to a private life. Therefore it would be illegal in general to be filmed at home, but if your out, about and in a 'public space' then it's all above board. Unfortunately you have - a public space can be privately owned. For instance, a supermarket is a public space, as would be a pub, or a church - lots of squares in cities are privately owned - in essence, its effectively anywhere you would or may meet a random member of the public. Broadly speaking, this confines the places where you cant be filmed into quite niche categories, which are mainly things like your home, garden, etc - sadly, not the countryside in general. With regards to CCTV, It's easier to think about it as the right to a private life in a private place.
Jacko3275
You can have cctv that records off your property but you cannot record conversations also you must by law provide anyone on your recordings a copy if asked for at the maximum charge of ten pounds I believe
