enfieldspares Posted March 22, 2021 Report Share Posted March 22, 2021 (edited) Gevelot were a big French maker not only of good quality shotgun cartridges but centrefire (and some rimfire) metallic cartridges. They even made .38 S & W the old calibre used in the British Enfield and Webley .38 Service Revolvers. Like a lot of the great, nay famous, French arms makers they waned and disappeared. Unique, MAB, Manufrance, Manhurin and all. All for all that it matters now gone even if the name may linger. A casualty of increased control over private ownership of firearms in France.
