JDog
YToday Jacko and I scoured the Wolds whilst Clodhopper looked on Lincolnshire Marsh. We found a few on direct drilling so he joined us before we set up. Jacko had first choice and in my view chose the wrong place. Clodhopper was keen to chat so he joined me in what I thought would be the best bet. We saw a fair few pigeons, some flying very high to a distant field but between us we managed to pick 44 pigeons. Only one that I inspected had anything in its crop which was beans and hedgerow buds. Clodhopper and I were on the periphery of an ancient moat and we dropped a few in the centre of it. The picture shows him attempting to get across the deep and smelly water via a fallen tree. Edited April 4, 2021 by JDog

marsh man
Nice report and glad you got some shooting after the work load you put in to secure a days shooting . Was that branch more upright when Clodhopper first attempted to cross the pond , the young man have got a smile on his face so it look like you all had an enjoyable afternoon out . JTaylor91
Very nice. Did you have bets on whether Clodhopper was going to end up in the moat or not?

JDog was full of useful advice, saying things like “ Don’t move any further until I get my camera out”! I had visited 3 farms before joining the other 2. One had a very promising line but on closer inspection I found another shooter set up on adjoining land which would have cut off my line, should have got there earlier! One highlight was a peregrine that came sailing over the field, having a second look at our pattern and then carrying on to find some real pigeons. Mightymariner
Well done for getting out in that cold weather. I waited until yesterday when it was much more pleasant. We saw hundreds on drillings and managed to shoot ten between us. Mind you on the edge of the Wolds with views towards the coast, it was exceedingly pleasant.
