TIGHTCHOKE
Mighty surprised to see Sir Kier Starmer giving the Prime Minister some gentle aggro about the confusion about allowing people to travel to and from the so called Amber Country's. Smokersmith
TBH I couldn't believe this was even a story .. but it was all over the BBC news this morning about the 'so called confusion' ! International Travel is now not illegal. We have classified countries in a traffic light system. Clear implications about what you need to do if coming back from an amber country. Yet another example of the bloody awful media chucking carp around.
TIGHTCHOKE
Yes indeed, confusion appears to be the default setting for many.
Gordon R
Starmer might feel happier questioning travel arrangements than commenting on yesterday's debacle with Angela Rayner getting shredded by Penny Mordaunt. No sign of anti-semites getting chucked out, no new policies, party in a shambles. Covid must be light relief for him. He doesn't have to do anything - merely moan, which is his forte. Jim Neal
Quarantine upon re-entering the UK from amber (& red?) countries seems to be a bit hit & miss from what I've heard.... and also not secure/enforced? So basically you can say you're quarantining and just mosey on out of your hotel or whatever...

oowee
Whichever way you look at it the international travel stuff has been handled badly. Too little too late. Not sure on how effective the isolation monitoring is but it's certainly getting better. Several thousand monitors for the UK now. https://www.gov.uk/guidance/self-isolation-compliance-checks-after-international-travel Quaranteen at home is one thing but having to quaranteen in a hotel is something to be avoided. Still worth speculating on flights in the hope that things have to get more sensible.
