Great news for my old English guns, provided they do the business and wont break the bank.
TIGHTCHOKE
No idea of the intended pricing, but they will know that they have you by the short and curlies! No point in having a gun and not being able to use it.
enfieldspares
Double based powder. Burns hotter. So no "free lunch" here. Thus can result in bore erosion or "roughening". You can spot old shotguns that used such powders back in the day. The bores are usually not still mirror bright but in a poor almost dull grey condition Not perhaps what I'd be wanting to use in any "old English gun" or "old French gun" or "old Belgian gun" that I currently own. Double base powder in "soft" steel barrels are not good! Not for me thanks! I'll stick with cartridges loaded with single base powders. Hicky
Hopefully someone will pattern test these when they’re out and bung it on YouTube, TGS and NH have done some fantastic videos on steel and the new ammo.
Fellside
Sorry to hear about the double base issue. Perhaps that’s one for Gamebore to sort as their product evolves and responds to market pressures. For those of us with more contemporary scatter guns, and looking past the trashy marketing spiel, it actually looks quite good. The wad in principle looks encouraging. Time will tell.
