Walker570
We do not seem to have had a report yet on the death of the whitetailed eagles. Media happy to let it settle on the 'game shoot' likelyhood. No suggestion of bird flu etc. I have written to the Daily Telegraph nudging them back on subject but don't hold your breath. CaptC
Packham is rabidly encouraging that it's the shooting fraternity - If it it is, an irresponsible cretin(s) has caused their deaths it will be all over the press, especially the BBC. Another nail in the Shooter's coffin which is just about to have it's lid closed!
bluesj
You won't hear or see anything else about it unless they think they can get some extra anti shooting mileage out of it. After all it wouldn't look too good if its found that the birds starved! The fact (if it is a fact) that they were found on shooting estates isn't a great surprise as there won't be that much ground that is not got some sort of shoot on it. Walker570
Perhaps a few additional letters to The Telegraph might just gee up a response.
Gas seal
When the game keeper was prosecuted for killing the two buzzards in his trap he was also prosecuted for having two stock doves in the trap that had been shot. A fund was used to determine that the birds were shot. The game keeper had to pay the £180 cost back to the fund. The same fund will pay the independent vets cost to determine the cause of death of the birds. They will know why the birds died. We will know when the timing suits them. Shouldn't need any letters sending Nev, the shooting orgs should be all over it.
