HantsRob
My FEO wanted to hang like a gorilla off of mine (ok maybe not that badly) whereas a friend in this county has used 8mm bolts and it's secure, and didn't even get a home visit on moving house only asking if it's secure. I see mine as removing ability from temptation. If someone knows I'm away for a weekend then really my 15mm bolts aren't going to be of much use. TIGHTCHOKE
I look forward to the compensation case when an overly heavy handed FEO manages to get a cabinet off the wall somewhere!
steve_b_wales
Many years ago, I was told by a visiting FEO, that if a burglar wanted the firearms, they would just cut around the wall/floor where the cabinets are fitted, or cut the cabinets open. Of course, this would take time and a lot of noise, which is what they wouldn't want.
Savhmr
The sides of most cabinets are made of thin pressed steel and any cordless grinder these days will eat through them in no time. Mind you if they made the sides as thick and tough as the cab doors on mine it would be impossible to lift into place!
THEINVISIBLESCARECROW
No idea what size my rawlbolt are but I used a 17mm spanner to tighten the nuts. I used larger, wider washers under the supplied ones as well.

manthing
When I told my force I'd moved my cabinets they sent a letter saying security was my responsibility. When I applied the feo just put her hand on the top and patted it a couple of times and pointed at the Brattonsound sticker and said "that's what we like to see, 5 gun?" Never even came out at my tecent renewal. But mine are in a cabinet and the gunsafes are bolted to the wall with m10 bolts, and done up 'kin tight. 😆. rding
https://www.dewalt.co.uk/product/dfm3450300/40-x-aerated-concrete-anchor-m10x70mm?tid=579291 These are really good if your wanting to fasten to thermolite or any other lightweight block. I used four of these and then 10mm coach bolts and then watched the officer try pull it from the wall failing miserably.
billytheghillie
I just used threaded bar with quick set resin, make them as long as you want.
