Wait time for work to be done

It's generally  easier to get parts for bigger brands   especially  uk ones like bsa daystate and airarms .

But fx and hw  should also be easy enough  . The issue can arise with flyby night Chinese or mid Eastern brands where the chop and change models every 5 mins  .

Also your average gun shop doesn't have a  lot of airgun servicing ability  .

A dedicated tuner specialised in a few quality brands is generally a better option .

So to that end  what's the gun and where has it gone ?

Don't be afraid to ask the guy how long he's going to take,,,, also to keep you informed etc. At the end of the day it's your gun and your money 😉

I’ve asked a few times how’s it going he said he was doing it on the 29th oct and get it out to me asap but then nothing since. I know is work is to very good buy the reviews he has that’s why I used him. But 10 weeks is a long time

Well that's not good on his behalf or for you. Communication is key to any business, seems it's lacking in this instance 🤔

I'm not saying who I think it is, but there are a few guys/companies out there who are said to do great work, but take a while with poor communication.

I would have minded so much but I messaged saying that I needed it asap as I had 2 farms that I had to clear ferals out for farmer before the cows went in said he’d get it done and back to me on the Tuesday that was 3 weeks ago I rang the farmer to tell him I’d be up on the Thursday didn’t happen and he got someone else in and I’ve lost the ratting there too.

No good to you now, but this is why you need two rifles,  in 177 & 22

But it's bad when you've had to wait this long, and been chasing it up with still no results.

I'd be asking if anything has even been done, because if something still isn't right how long will you have to wait next time.

If its the chap I think it might be, he has a large project on and is currently building a new shop, workshop and home and this is taking priority.  I know it's a pain and his communication isn't the best but when the gun comes back it will be sorted. If you simply can't wait arrange to pick the gun up and send it somewhere else.

If its not the chap I'm thinking of and there are no outside influences then 10 weeks does seem a little long without explanation.

Even if it is the chap you are thinking of, 10 weeks is long, he should not be taking work if he cannot fulfill the work in a reasonable time, at least not with out stating the estimated time scale first. 10 weeks is not acceptable, especially without communication.

The gun was ready 5 weeks ago but didn’t know who’s it was had mislaid the paper work I sent with the gun. So when I sent a picture of gun with serial number they came strait back to me and it’s on its way back.

Well that's a result,,,, sort of 🤔 At least it's done and will be back in your possession soon.
