Hello, that's interesting, do you think this will become a trend with NE, if you know of farmoor water it is inundated with cormorants and that supplies our drinking water 🤔

not to sure from what it was saying theres been some cormorant found dead indifferent parts of the country, mr packham and wild justice are asking why is natural England still allowing numbers of birds to be shot, to be honest we have noticed more this year especially cormorants we ad 8 trying to land on one water on tuesday

Hello, perhaps packham should see the 10s if not hundreds of cormorants on farmoor water and all the **** going into the water let alone the damage to trout stocks, that costs £1000s of £s from water bills,

What a good idea, farmoor would need that every hour there are so many cormorants 🙄

can see the natural England license being suspended for September this yeah, this will be a massive kick in the teeth for some clubs, cormarants are not bothered by starting pistols anymore

I think this is the most important part to keep in mind:

Quote

The animals were found to have a mutation of the virus that could make it easier to infect mammals, but there was no evidence of transmission between mammals.

What this suggests is that, whilst bird flu is still killing birds, there may be a statistically minute number of cases of mammals contracting the disease.  What won't happen is that the virus will start a raging epidemic spreading amongst those mammalian species.

Not much to shout about..... at the moment, anyway.

I  hope your optimism is not misplaced but remember what viruses can do over time?
