countryman
I have a Westwood Petrol tractor mower, it’s about 6 years old and I have had it for 2 years, it has a Kawasaki petrol engine twin cylinder, it will start from cold no problem but if you stop it for 20 minutes or so it will not start again, doesn’t matter if you pull the choke in or out nothing just winding over, if I leave it to cool down a bit more it will start or though not easily, once running it’s fine, I’ve cleaned both plugs or though they look ok and fuel is in the in line filter. Any ideas . Thanks chris
Gordon R
Have you tried it without the air filter?

ditchman
i have had this problem twice....once when i bought a mower 2nd hand...........and again when i bought 2nd hand......i put a new carb on one and a heat deflector plate (which had gone missing so the carb was getting hot and the petrol was vapourising....and the other one isold it.........alot of the problem is compression.... countryman
The air filter looks clean, not looked at the fuel cap, it’s not done many hours so I would hope it’s not a compression issue, this was not a cheap machine , it’s the biggest tractor Westwood make so you would expect it to last well. countryman
Yes fuel is fresh, been using it this afternoon to pick leaves up, I try to keep the Engine running until the jobs done, I will have to book it in to the garden machinery shop. wisdom
Low compression or a more likely cause is an air leak between the carb and cylinders either the manifold or head
