The Heron Posted March 19, 2023 Report Share Posted March 19, 2023 I've just swapped a 110 landrover for an Isuzu what I wanted to ask is,is it best to turn off the traction control when I put it in all wheel drive 4wd and diff lock. I followed a new Discovery up a steep grass hill in my basic 1989 Land Rover and the Discovery made it half way and began to slide all over. I put the power on and stormed passed no problem to the top. Later on I mentioned this to the Discovery driver and he was mad as mad because he said the car would not let him drive it. ESP should be switched off in sticky situations as it has a habit of reducing power to the wheels, whilst traction control will brake spinning wheels to transfer torque to wheels with most traction.
