It used to be a good ground, shot there under at least two owners. Look forward to seeing how they've upgraded. Jega Posted April 17, 2023 Author Report Share Posted April 17, 2023 (edited) O.k. good people Blyton Shooting Ground (previously Pinewood ) will reopen on April 29th , they were hoping to open on April 22nd but rather then rush and cut corners they have decided to take their time and get it right . Could you please be so kind as to let other people who don't use Pigeon Watch or Facebook know the date for opening . Thanks . Jega Posted April 30, 2023 Author Report Share Posted April 30, 2023 (edited) Quick update and first review of the newly named Blyton shooting ground . We arrived within the first hour or so of opening time and given the lovely weather were expecting a lot more people then were actually there ,although i believe more people turned up later in the day . Anyway , we found the whole ground to be a lot tidier the on our previous visits ,no old cardboard clay boxes littering the place , the stands all have a piece of rubber type decking instead of 2" of Lincolnshire mud ,it's very well signposted in regard of stand locations . Now the important bit , one or two of the traps were having a bit of a first day tantrum but in fairness the ground staff were on them very quickly .The variety and varying degrees of target difficulty were pretty much spot on and it shows the guys who set the course know what they are doing . A couple of the stands were definitely more fun then anything else with many many shouts of ," where the bloody hell did that one come from? " heard far and wide . So overall ,yes a few first day teething problems but nothing to get hysterical about , considering they have just opened and the positive attitude they show then this ground has the undoubted potential to grow into a cracking place to spend a few hours . Jega Posted May 13, 2023 Author Report Share Posted May 13, 2023 Unfortunately the ground had some visitors from the creatures of the night this week. They caused large amounts of needless damage to traps, controllers, cabling etc , The guys managed to cobble together enough equipment to get the ground open this weekend. At a time like this I think it is vitally important that we all show our support for the new owners by coming down for a round or two in the coming weeks . So good people if you are in the area please drop by and help the new owners to make a go of what is a good facility which is much needed.
