Interesting idea to stop all other forms of hand outs

It depends on the style of  UBI implemented, many models, including the one trialled here, use it on top of whatever wages and benefits you already get. Whilst others, like Brazils trial, only go to the very poor.

Exactly, it often puzzles me why, instead of a US or Canadian style of benefit system, where immigrants are not granted full access to social security, we make life as idyllic as possible for illegals, while UBI, or at least the future prospect of it, would make the UK an even more desirable destination.

My position is that I am anti anything which makes the state any bigger or more powerful; the end.

I am appalled at how some people cheer on bigger government, more powers to government and with that more taxation to fund big government.

It’s like we actually want to become China - give up all rights and freedoms (including thought and speech) to be looked after and cared for a benevolent state that knows what’s best for us.

These are the people that blame all that is wrong in their lives and in their own perceptions on ‘the government’ not doing enough for them, all the while taking zero responsibility or accountability themselves. Boy have we got soft and pathetic.

My late mother's carer was Hungarian she went back to Hungary a couple of years ago . However I absolutely bet her child allowance for her two kids is still being paid into her UK bank account every month and will be for years to come.

Why? Because nobody checks

That's the definition of socialism but everybody who votes for it does so in the belief they are going to get more out it than they are getting now

Agree 100%

I know its not just the British , many European nations, bar some of the ex soviet states, have gotten more and more weak minded, lead by weak minded, out of touch politicians, PC councils, and a media driven to a frenzy of diversity training and inclusion, nothing wrong with inclusion, but some policies are just plain bonkers.

The march toward one global state is inexorable, we wont need to be forced into it, by gentle nudges, and starting on the children, the next generation or two will welcome it.
And then they can do whatever they want with the general populace.
You WILL work , at whatever they tell you to do, there will be no shirkers.
You WILL buy the products you are told to buy, alternatives and luxury goods will be reserved for the upper echelons as rewards .
A general stasi style snitch culture, and rewards for it.
Travel ? Forget it, stay in you borough.
Voting will be irrelevant , and unnecessary, democracy, a memory of 'bad times'
Free health care, forget it , those that dont survive disease or injury , tough.
Limitations to births, not that we need it at the moment.
Involuntary euthanasia before any state burden applies.

Thanks for that, cheered me up no end!

A very similar statement is made by an American gender reassignment surgeon (had the cut and shut done themself) in Matt Walsh's documentary, 'What is a Woman'.

The biggest issue is that she was entitled to the payment in the first place.

I don’t imagine I would be entitled to benefits in Hungary.

I don't believe she ever was entitled to the payment.  Who decided that she was? This to me is just another example of lazy Civil Servants  taking the path of least resistance rather than actually investigating claims.

She only ever came here as a migrant worker to earn money to take home. Her children  mostly remained in Hungary.  But I know that as soon as she and her friends got here they got signed on at the doctors, applied for an NI number and got themselves on the electoral register.

There are websites in Hungary telling you what to do and how to do it.

Most if not all other countries in Europe wouldn't be so stupid.

No wonder that people travel across the whole of Europe from places like North Africa or the Middle East to get here. No more proof needed that we are a soft touch

Reciprocal rights from being in the EU - But I believe that it wasn't reciprocated though if you know what I mean....

My mother's carer's sister came over from Hungary to visit  her for a fortnight holiday.

It must have been summer 2019

During the time she was here they were filling out forms on our kitchen table. Lots of forms,  I don't know what the forms were for but I can guess
