jking
Hi, Im looking to apply for my medical certificate. How long is it valid for once it has been issued? I'm getting mixed answers from the companies who issue these (Medcert etc.) Cheers
Robden
When I applied for my renewal, Cheshire police said that it must be within the last 90 days or it will be refused. I think it' a case of, different counties different rules.
TIGHTCHOKE
My surgery took a full six weeks to come up with the goods, best you set the wheels in motion in good time. Oh I also notified my issuing authority that I had submitted a request to my surgery so they were aware of any delay.
jking
To give some context - my constabulary have temporarily suspended grants, so I am hoping that if I have a medical certificate and application form ready to go when they start to accept grant applications again then I shouldn't have too long to wait. I just want don't want to waste money applying for the medical certificate now if it's only valid for a short period of time, but am willing to take the risk and get the medical certificate now if it's valid for say 6 months or so. I would give them a ring - also back it up with an emailed question so that you have a record. They’re usually quite helpful once you speak to them. Also ask if you can submit during the suspension period - so that you’re in the queue so to speak. I know that some areas have allowed this, but some haven’t. It’s a bit of a post code lottery…?! Sorry to hear about your plight - and good luck.
jking
My issuing authority are unfortunately quite difficult to get hold of with long response times due to them being short staffed. I will give it a go though. They have taken the application form down from their website so that you cannot download it, so I assume they don't want a queue building up whilst they suspend applications. Newbie to this
I'd also email my MP, asking why you are being stopped from pursuing your chosen sport, while others are not.

Usually answered a bit quicker.
