elmar fudd
We’re going to a country fair today that hosts a clay shoot, a couple of friends have asked about entering, more than happy too but is there any guidelines to taking a shotgun to a show? I don’t really want to leave it in the car until we shoot, guessing as long it’s in a slip and I’ve got my certificate it’s fine but just wanted to check? Probably best to ring the event organisers or show itself & speak to who ever is running it to find out? Some organisers might only want you to use the events gun due to insurance & safety reasons
elmar fudd
I rang yesterday and all they replied with was that you could use your own shotgun as long as you had your certificate with you
Scully
It’s the same process as taking your gun anywhere else.

Perhaps not advisable to shoot first, then be seen putting gun into a car and walking away to looks at the stands.

TIGHTCHOKE
Blimey! What are the chances that people might take guns to a Country Show with a Clay Pigeon Shoot?
Genghis
Their reply suggests there will be no issues. I would just carry it in your slip. The type of people who attend country fairs are not typically the type to get hysterical at the sight of a shotgun.
THEINVISIBLESCARECROW
Carry it around with me. Never left in the car.
