I was never going to fill the bag here but with no walk and hide shaded both bigger priorities than numbers at my age I set up even using pin perfect birds customers from the front still worked out all was not well when they start to get educated you know summer is ending so contented to score 17 IMG_2844.jpeg.e6a042fe8ee81d2aa48dfc849b2a5d65.jpeg

Way before the magnets came onto the scene my brother had a fair bit of time on his hands and spent a lot of it Pigeon decoying , Pigeons of all shapes and sizes were making good money , so to pass the time while waiting for a wood pigeon he took his air rifle which was a 2.2 B S A Airsporter , this was very effective on the feral ones but I could not remember him shooting any wood pigeons with the air rifle , although at the time the cartridges were cheap and like I said we got good money for a full size woody .

I would love to see a photo of your setup and at what range do you aim to get them in ?

The last few times I have been it have been on wheat or barley stubble and I just put my full size flexicoys on top of the stubble with no magnets , I did use a floater with a dead pigeon on top and the ones that did come in came in a treat and I dare say if I had spent more time with setting the dead pigeons up I am sure they would had come in and some would had certainly landed but with a shotgun most of them didn't get a chance to land , but I can easily see the satisfaction you get with not only first class decoying but then to place the pellet in the vital area , A very big WELL DONE

This is my set up with the minimum of effort.

Well done .I really like air gunning pigeons. I took daughter out on Saturday morning  early .we managed 23 between us .the biggest bag she has ever shot she got 11 of them .she was taking perfect head shots with her sub 12 .22  she is such a natural shot .

We had a great time together ,  just sat under a bush over looking some plastic decoys and picking them off as they dropped in .

that’s a tidy score fair play to her find plastics make them edgy hence use real birds

I find that when on stubbles I try to set my decoys far apart,  especially  if using plastic shells . Probably 5 yds minimum but more often 10 yds apart and I use around 15 deeks .

If a bird lands next to one it spooks very quickly .but if they land a little way from a deek they sit for longer allowing u to get a shot off.
