Probably the best pump action available if you can get them.
Steel100 Posted Tuesday at 09:50 Report Share Posted Tuesday at 09:50 Also, have a look at the Ithaca Model 37. It is very similar in design and function. Andy
Stimo22 Posted Tuesday at 10:10 Report Share Posted Tuesday at 10:10 They did a 16 bore one and I have seen them advertised but never had the opportunity to buy
theshootist Posted Thursday at 21:25 Report Share Posted Thursday at 21:25 They are brilliant. Far superior to a Mossberg in my opinion. Tang mounted safety catch and bottom ejecting. They are well made.
Ferretlurcher1970 Posted Thursday at 21:32 Author Report Share Posted Thursday at 21:32 Will try and track one down. Get very angry trying to find cases that have been rejected from my maxus
Stimo22
There are a couple of 12 bores in the Holts sealed bit auction
Ferretlurcher1970
Just had a look. Is that price they normally go for?
impala59
I have had a few BPS (always regretted selling them!) Great action and somewhat simpler takedown than the similarly configured Ithaca 37, although I personally prefer the handling of the 37. The BPS is made in Japan by Miroku and the metalwork is to their high standards. It is my opinion that the wood to metal fit is better on the older ones, My current one is older and is a lovely, well used one. It was fairly cheap at around £120. The BPS moniker does seem to inflate the price, mine was sold as a Browning Field pump, but is nonetheless a factory marked BPS. Hope you find one, I doubt you will regret it

impala59
A BPS would certainly fit the bill! They are also available in 10g but do tend to be pricy in that gauge
