Buying from Beretta estore

Hi, I’m wondering if anyone has bought any spare parts or Beretta shotgun related items from their on line estore facility in Italy? I have ordered a fore end iron screw and corresponding washer, 2 small (non “essential items” according to Beretta), a simple straightforward transaction I would have thought? But it seems like DHL, the carrier facilitating the collection and delivery of this insignificant package, have administrative and bureaucratic hoops to jump through with the Customs department, who have requested comprehensive descriptions of the items, a copy of my shotgun certificate, consignment numbers, and only respond to enquiries via email. To anyones’ knowledge, is this normal practice when buying anything from Beretta estore, and are there any actions I can take to hopefully get my screw delivered? Any advice would be very much appreciated! Thankyou.

I used to use the Beretta Estore until DHL International lost a parcel, then found it but lost it again. Then they (DHL I) blamed customs in Italy, Germany and the UK.

I complained to Beretta and they immediately refunded the shipping element of my order and blamed DHL I.

The package eventually turned up, about 6 weeks later.

No apology from DHL I and no explanation either.

I have NOT used them since.

Good luck

Thankyou Tightchoke for your prompt response, hmmm……..your experience doesn’t inspire me with confidence, I suspect that the merest mention of the words “firearms, and Beretta” immediately signal red flag alarms on all DHL systems…….and alert notifications are sent to all security services………

GMK will only supply trade. Have you gone and asked your nearest gunshop or gunsmith for them?? They are pennies and I stock them and fit those while you wait. In fact I keep most of the "internals" for a 680 series o/u as the parts are cheap and I can provide that quick turnaround. Maybe that's old fashioned now.

Hi Fil, You’re absolutely right, I contacted GMK, and they said exactly that, I phoned my local gunsmith, unfortunately he hasn’t got any in stock, which does surprise me, so I will have to wait until he orders some from GMK. I was hoping to avoid a trip to the gunsmith, but alas I now have no choice! Thankyou for your advice, much appreciated.

Hi Jasonk, I’m pleased you found the communication and administrative interaction with DHL straightforward, I don’t doubt the paper shufflers are merely following their imposed procedures, however in my case whoever is dealing with my small insignificant package doesn’t appear to be exercising the same professional abilities, if only DHL acted with similar efficacy as Beretta estore, and were as expedient as Beretta estore are, their customer satisfaction rating would be much higher, DHL simply aren’t bothered.

Jasonk……apologies for the rant, it’s one of those mornings…….. hope you have an enjoyable weekend, straight shooting!!

I ordered from them, I really enjoyed the call from customs to pay import duty and VAT, added quite a bit, part was about €48 I think with all the rubbish cost about £72,

I ordered.part for my bike from italy.and arrived at the door, not customs???

Id only order from a UK supplier now

It’s put me off attempting to order anything from Beretta estore ever again, it seems bizarre how you as an individual customer are able to order what Beretta describe as “non essential gun spare parts” from their on line store, yet GMK in this country won’t supply the same parts unless you are a trader.

I can only presume GMK do not what every Thomas, Richard and Harry sending in small orders for single parts and probably have a minimum order for those dealers and gunsmiths that are registered with them.

Now you need a tame gunsmith with an account who can get the parts for you.

Good luck

I do appreciate that perhaps GMK are not primarily in the customer service business, however, they have held the exclusive distribution rights for Beretta and their associate companies in this country since their days as Gunmark, and, if a massive international company like Beretta are capable and willing to establish an online ordering system for non essential spare parts, I would have thought GMK might have invested a tiny proportion of the profits they have accumulated over the years and dragged themselves into the 21st century.

This is all very timely for me as the forend latch rod and spring flew off my 626 sometime on Saturday and I need to order more. OMPS2 seem to have the parts I need - just under 9 euros but 28 euros delivery!

I do not doubt for a moment that OMPS2 have excellent supplies of spare parts for different guns, and their online ordering procedure is very customer friendly, however, navigating the transit obstacles provided by UK Customs may be a different matter!! My advice would be to contact your local gunsmith, who will be able to liaise with GMK to supply the parts you need.
