Well, Yesterday I donned my protective gear and ventured in to the depths of one of the freezers.

Found quite a bit of stuff that I had forgotten about.

My plan is to empty one draw/basket and then to sort the good stuff in to that to allow a sort out and then move on to the second freezer.

I found some steak, never mind 21 day matured, this is 3 or 4 years frozen, but never one to avoid a challenge, I defrosted it overnight and then decided to have steak and chips today.

Cue the chips in to the air fryer and the steak on to the George Forman Grill and the peas in to the microwave.

Mint sauce on the pease and Worcestershire sauce and black pepper on the steak.

Lovely meal, no wine as it's only lunchtime.

Good man, you never know when your FEO is coming round with his breathalyser, it is Friday 13th :)

did the steak not taste frost burnt after 3-4 years?

That steak looks like the 'fresh' one I bought a few months ago, which once cooked, looked exactly like yours. Mine tasted awful and went straight in the bin ! I reckon it had been frozen and defrosted a few times 😠

Possibly, mine went straight in to the freezer once I had cut it all up, looking forward to another piece over the weekend. Just a shame I had forgotten all about it.  :w00t:

I cooked up some year old [frozen then thawed] large tiger prawns in the summer. I'm still breathing 😆🤣 Got a leg of lamb and a nice chunk of beef fillet to use up soon,,,, both 12 months in the freezer 🙄🤣

You are a braver man than me Dave , anything I cleared out of my freezer after my wife passed away that was over 12 months old I wouldn't even cook it for my dog , a year was plenty long enough to eat it , after that I am afraid it was only fit for the bin , I did once take some Pigeons to the game dealer and he thought some were freezer burnt , how he worked that out , I haven't a clue as he still took them
