Gents ( and possibly Ladies)
I’m the most unfit person out,  but would any of you consider donating to the following?
Having lost my father this year to Prostate cancer and my grandfather to it to, many years ago, I have signed up to the challenge of running a marathon in January.
Now, fortunately it’s able to be spaced out over the whole of Jan as I couldn’t make two miles a day at my current fitness.
So if you’re able to, then please click the link if you wish to see me suffer and run like a baby elephant.
Thanks

Sorry to hear of your fathers passing Jaymo from this dreadful disease.

Just donated to a very good cause.

Good man!

Thank you so very much.

Got three more days until Jan, of eating n drinking to excess before I slip into my trainers and pant away..

Morning

Well, I have dusted off my trainers and signed up for Strava etc so that you can see my progress.
But now I’m thinking- what if I could fulfil all of the milestones mentioned on the Prostate Cancer page?

Next goal is £300 and then £500! So come on, ‘Spare some change guv’ for what could be the ‘£’ that brings a breakthrough to this awful cancer. As the National Lottery says ‘it could be you’

Thank you, as even taking the time to read this, raises awareness.

Jay

Ps, for Ditchie I may even post up a pic in my running Lycra if I hit the £500 target  🤣🤣

Can be as little per day or as much per day.
As long as within the month, that 26.2 miles is run.
I’m super unfit, so Jan 1st will likely be a shorter amount plus working away, means the distances may vary.

But I hope to lead up to few miles a day if I can?

I will be packing the trainers into my Crew Case and therefore Gdańsk and Hannover will see my asthmatic efforts this weekend too.

Great story.
Out of Acorns and all that.

It's all about your mindset,,,, and I'm detecting a smidge of negativity from someone 🙃 I've never been in the situation of being overweight, quite the opposite in fact. Used to smoke,,,, stopped that overnight 45 years ago. Got into sports,,,, put on weight, muscle actually, and was super fit for many years. 64 now, 6'2" and high 11 stone, fit [ish] and can run young labourers into the ground working on site,,,, they gasp for breath while I'm just ticking over,,,, because I enjoy my work 😀

So, enjoy your runs and smile while doing them 👍

Thank you.
Went up Steep Hill in Lincoln recently and my eldest challenged us to ascend it as quick as possible. The old heart was thumping away, but so was my boys and so there is hope.

Recently I lost 8kg but then put 5kg back on, know it’s a nett loss, but it did disappoint me- peanuts n cheese is a major weakness. Ok, biscuits too.

Am hoping this will be a kickstart indeed to loose the three stone that I really need too.
Can’t remember when I was last 12 stone. Will then be able to buy some of MM’s SuperDry bargains.

Donation made. I went through tests because it was thought I may have had prostate cancer, but luckily, all tests were clear and I just have an enlarged prostate.

My sincere condolences at the loss of your father. He'll be with you as you clock up those miles. :good:

You’re a star.
Been through the same ‘scare’ with same diagnosis…

Got to Gdansk this afternoon to zero degree temps and snowing.
Put the trainers on and had second thoughts.

But I braved it and staggered to make my first 1.11 miles before the cold and wheezing like an asthmatic donkey, got the better of me.

Would help if I wasn’t carry the weight of my eldest child around my midriff- I may have exercised by running, but countered that with too many delicious Polish dumplings of various flavours just now.

Thank you once again to those who sponsored me. I aim to update the justgiving page as and when 👍🏻
