After a long day on the shoot I was ready for something to eat when I got home at nearly 5pm , I couldn't bother with all the steamed veg as I will have them with something either tomorrow or Saturday so tonight I done a nice Chicken and ham kiev , mixed Peas , carrots and sweetcorn , chips with a drop of festive chutney , afters was Apple pie and the last of the Brandy sauce , all in all it was very nice and very little was left over .

very nice MM..........you are turning out/getting very inventive......pure rocket fuel boi pure rocket fuel

THANKS Simon , although I don't go in many pubs it do look like a pub meal , I done the chips a good 12 / 15 minutes longer than the instructions stated and I now only treat them as a guide, the Brandy sauce didn.t go with the Apple pie but using it up was better than wasting it .

Something slightly off track , I heard today that Tom Henwood who you might had picked with on our place sadly passed away a few days ago , his daughter have got his three dags and I am going to get in touch to see if any of them would make , or already are a picking up dog , my dog worked his heart out all day and picked up 10 behind two Danish blokes on one drive today but I fear it will be his last year as a picking up dog so one of Toms might suit me , we will see .    MM

Another winner, you are getting pretty good at the cooking lark, masterchef is the next stop.

Not so sure about that welsh1 , I think I will be on permanent work experience till my time is up , I don't create anything myself , I just read the instructions on what other people had prepared .I did go off my food for a while for various reasons, but now I am feeling more myself then the better I make my meal look then the more I fancy it so it's a win , win situation , also the forums critics have been a great help as well as I can only getaway with forgetting to switch the oven on once , any time I do it again I could be shot at dawn :drinks:

Well done MM, that would be lovely after a long day out.   :good:

Morning Dave ... Yes it went down a treat , time I got home and had a cup of tea it was then late enough to get my tea ready , I didn't have to take my dog out as he had been out all day and was then sound asleep , I also avoided eating a piece of Christmas cake ( yes I have still got some left , well plenty to be exact ) so time my tea was done I was ready for it , the three tea items more or less went in the oven together at the same time and then I just kept an eye on things when the extended cooking time was nearly up , I might give the chips a miss tonight and do some veg while it is nice and fresh with whatever is at the top of the freezer , I take it as it come as nothing get priority , well for most of the time , you can get a bit fed up with Pheasant and duck breasts so two on the trot might be avoided . Have a good day :drinks:

As long as you're enjoying your food MM, it doesn't matter if it's a mix of stuff that not many would think of combining 😉 😄

Combining the right foods with most of what you are cooking is normally for the dedicated cooking enthusiast which I am not , sometimes it's more by luck that I have got various bits and pieces from whatever I had cooked from the day before , one of the only items I tend to marry up with each other is fish and chips and even that is not always guaranteed , might be different if you are cooking for other members of your family when you know there likes and dislikes , but when you are by yourself you know what you will eat , sometimes you might not be that hungry once you have cooked it , or like mine at times it is not always cooked as it should be , still there might come a day where I mix things up and these dedicated guys think to themselves , my god I never thought of that and how nice do that look , wishful thinking but you live in hope

Yes, we do live in hope 😆 Seriously though,,,, I also live alone, but do like a nice 'matching' meal. But who's to say that yours isn't a matching meal for someone ? As long as it's tasty and you enjoy it, that's the main thing 👍
