Put a brick and the goose in the oven,

Cook slowly until the goose is fully cooked,

Take out of the oven, throw the goose away and eat the brick 🤦🏻‍♂️

You should had been a detective JKD  , we used to keep the brick and  throw away the oven , then go down the rubbish tip and look for another one , that was how poor we were😢

Well that 'proverb' is as old as the hills, and you're as old as,,,, well, as you are and you probably invented it :w00t::lol:

in our part of norfolk we cooked the goose then buried it in a hole in the garden beneath a full moon and ate the cooker....

i will try once more, for the slow of thinking. Every time you put out there, in the public domain, comments about the inedibility of this or that quarry species, you are giving ammunition to those who claim we kill birds "for fun". This particular piece of nonsense even made the pages of Shooting Times last year in a column by some clown who cant even put his hat on straight.

Sorry for the lack of clarity re author but I was shown the article by a friend. Despite having an archive of Shooting Times going back to pre-war times I have given it up in recent years as it makes Shooting and Conservation look like quality journalism,
