Would like to say a BIG THANK YOU TO Will Beasley from myself and mag357.

We have just had 2 days down shooting with Will's team arrived down there for 7-30am after leaveing home at 3-30am

they were all still in bed. The big man himself was the first to appear he called us into the houise and made us coffee thanks Phil it was just right after a long drive.

Will emerged looking worse for wear took a bit of stick from him (been down before) as i had not been down and seen him for a few months.

We were on the road by 8.15am the traffic was manic took ages to do about 20 miles anyway we got set up on a rape field near Coventry airport it was hard to see any rape it was that hammered.

When we first drove into the field there were literally 100's of bird feeding they all took of into another field got set up with a magnet with hypas on and sillosock's out with a couple of floaters.

The down side was there was not a breath of wind for the 2 days anyhow shot 32 the first day they just did not want to come to the decoys at all despite what Will and Elvis were doing to keep the birds in the air mag357 had a poor day he ended up with 8.

The second day we were even further away while we were waiting for Will to nip down to this wood and set up some bangers we saw a flock of birds take up of this rape field we were in there must have been 2000 + . I thought mag357 (John) was going to have a heart attack with excitement.

Will set him up close to this area and i was backed on to a wood 2 fields away another gun was about 1/2 mile away the idea was to bounce them about.

It was a tough day i only got 14 and John ended up with around 30 i have never in all my life seem so many birds in the air thanks to Will he did about 150 miles just riding round the area all day keeping the birds on the move he went through 3 boxes of cartridges and 5 streams of bangers.

He worked his little socks off good on you mate, and we were on the discount for PW members of only £30 per day we never got big bags but if the birds don't want to play there's nothing Will or anyone else can do.

There must have been 10,000 birds in the area we shot yesterday just going from wood to wood they were just to high going over head to shoot very few came to the decoys what did got shot..!!! :good:

Any member of PW that wants good service ring Will and get yourself down for a couple of days you certainly get well looked after.

Thanks again for 2 good days Will and Phil oops nearly forget Elvis and we hope to see you in the new year for more just hope the wind is blowing a bit next time.

I would like to add my thanks for all the effort that Will and Elvis put in to ensure me and Hawkeye had a good time......well done lads and thanks a million.

Definetly be back again to sample your hospitality and visit Mike in the workshop for some more goodies,he looked after me really well......all for a lot less than £400 for all the gear I bought, cheers mate.. .

With all the pigeons about (a zillion) I will need a 300 shot auto next time.

:P:lol::lol:

Its the old truth, pigeons are wild birds and nothing can be guaranteed, but it sounds as though they worked their socks off for you. :P

That is a very good deal Will is offering.

worked their socks off is right according to the tale I was told, couple of hundred miles driven, 3 boxes of ammo, banger strips set off, all to keep the birds moving and getting the lads a chance of some shots, probably cost them more than they made, but thats service for you, you either get it or you dont, top show from will and matt and not forgetting phill.

cheers KW

Nice to meet you guys down at Will's on Wednesday. I ended up with 29 birds in 4 and a half hours. Will does work hard to keep them coming - I could see him on the otherside of the field and he'd ring me to tell me what was coming. HE couldn't guarantee I'd hit them though!

Very very hard decoying pigeons at this time of year and you can feel for poor old WB chasing the little beggars all over. Just a waste of fuel, time and money as the results are usually about the same.

A tip...try rockets to break up those big flocks and scatter the birds. Two at a time, one rocket after another tends to put them away. If you can get a flightline going when they return, just a small number of birds at a time then you've a chance of decoying them. Needs a windy day! and lots of deeks! Oh and Lady Luck! :yp:

I've been out twice in recent weeks with Will, one occasion was an absolute cracker the other was pretty quiet. But conditions were not great, you certainly can't fault Will he works like an absolute trojan to keep the birds moving, but if they insist on sitting in trees there is only so much even he can do!! He is definitely right about the numbers - shed loads of birds with him at the minute.
