Natures_son
Now i expect a bit of stick for this but im really at my wits end here. I moved to tasmania from the uk around about 16 months ago. Now just before i left i proceeded to get thoroughly smashed with a few mates at my local where there just happened to be an old girlfriend of mine. Needless to say several drinks later we were back at her place doing the deed. Now is when my problems start i moved here about a week after. Well right now she has a 7 month old kid. she has been telling people she is not sure who the father is but im starting to really worry about this im seriously thinking of flying back for a dna test just to be sure. Im not the type of guy who can just forget this. if the sprog is mine il help support it but what would you guys do? Y.I.S NS

Hunter
Do the DNA. OR you will live the rest of your life wondering if you have a child or not Plus if it is yours, it could be a good thing too IMO in that situation, if it was me, I would do it. The child deserves a father there to watch them grow up, and be there for them. Even if the parents are not connected.
ashcmt
i also learnt that lesson the hard way(ish), my ex eventually came to the very correct conclusion that keepin it was not the very best idea. in future mate two bin bags fresh at all times. in your situation, get back over here, get a dna test, and if its yours, enjoy him for all he's worth. you might have a son! Red 9R
I saw my dad for the first time in 37 years when I was 39, unfortunatly it was at his funeral, just wish I could have had 1 pint with him to have a chat and asked a few questions, his wife said he had wished the same, get the DNA test for both of you. Dr W
Suppose depends whether you want to get involved and whether you plan to return to the UK and be a part of the lads life if it's yours?
al4x
Have you spoken to her yet or is this all coming from other people? IMHO she should have a fair idea who the father is even if she has been playing arround a bit so you really need to speak to her. tests can be done no problem from where you are so no need to come back. Personally i'd want to know even if it was one of the more expensive mistakes you can make.

Mungler
Difficult one. There's a world of difference between being there and being a father and being the bloke that drops by on a Saturday once in a blue moon. Working to the assumption that you are the father it seems that unless you are moving back to the UK, all you would have to look forward to is a long distance relationship with the CSA. Very tricky.
