viking
hi all, i was out today using my beretta 391 urika for the first time, i noticed a few sparkes when it was ejecting the carts but then after id fired about 30 through it im sure out of the corner of my eye i saw a flame come out of the side that lasted for only a second but it was a shock, is this normal or what, thanks, lee
Markio
I have seen this once before at a clay shoot, a small lick of flame as the cart was ejected. I assumed (rightly or wrongly?!) that it was residue oil burning off.
al4x
I've had it with mine while rabbiting at night but I've not noticed it during the day, but I guess you don't usually look down while firing
Mungler
I like to think that I am quite experienced and perform quite well even with a semi (no complaints). Flames from it though, that's a new one on me. What does your missus say about it all?
the last engineer
sometimes during the early morn or dusk its not unusual to see sparks or small flames of burning powder, stop looking at the fireworks and concentrate on the target
bunnybasher100
I have had it happen loads you only notice it out the corner of your eye and i find that it happens when im using dirty burning carts D&Js do it a lot. i The main reason why it happens is when the load followed by the wad go pass the gas ports in the barrel there is still hot gases and burnt powder still in the barrel as the bolt is cocked back opening the breach the gases haven't left the muzzel yet behind the load. bit hard to understand but thats my guess

JohnGalway
Used to see that plenty when shooting clays with Conor later on in the evening when the light starts to fade, both my Baikal and his cheapie () Beretta would do it Very entertaining for who ever was on the trap, I'd forget about watching the clays, the flamethrower was more fun. JohnGalway
We were using Eley carts too, I forget which but they were for clays, 7.5's
Wildshot
Often seen this when clay shooting with cheaper cartridges. I notice it especially as I'm left handed with aright ejecting beretta. I live in fear of losing my eyebrows to a flameout one day.

Chard
I wouldn't worry about a few sparks and flames. I think it's just mucky cartridges. I'm using some Fiocchi cartridges at the moment. It's like November 5th   A bloke came up to me during a registered shoot at Catton Hall on Sunday and asked me what cartridges I was using, as he had been watching the firework display - cheeky ****
