Blackbart
Just about to start instaling another cabinet,do you think bolt to the other 1,or about 1 foot away?
Baldrick
Mine are next to each other, but not bolted together. Each cabinet has 8 M8 rawlbolts binding it to the wall, though, plus the floor fixings.
MC
Mine are the same as Baldricks, bolted to the same wall next to each other.
bob300w
Just about to start instaling another cabinet,do you think bolt to the other 1,or about 1 foot away? Whatever is convenient to get around, vacuum around etc. As far as your FEO is concerned, if it is a secure place for the first one, it must be OK for the second. The last one that I installed for a friend, we put 2 feet off of the floor, made it easier for 'er indoors to vacuum, lift the carpet for decorating, and no bending down to reach the locks! Blackbart
The first one is out the way in a walk in cupboard but i was wondering if putting it next to it i would be creating a handy leveredge point for the first one?And i would hate to mess on only to have to move it
steyrman
mines the same as martincavie & baldricks
Baldrick
One things I'd add is that bolts clamping the cabinets together, unless ground down and/or covered, are likely to the cause of many dings in the stocks and barrels of you guns. njc110381
I wouldn't space them. That would give easy access to something like a car jack which could force one off the wall.
magman
Got two together, bolted to wall as well as bolted together

Glenshooter
I have my two in different rooms. If the house is broken into and the alarm is sounding then even if they manage to get one cabinet, it is less likley that they can get two. And I split my firearms between the two - filling the remainder with air rifles.

BigGun1
My 2 cabinets are bolted together and each have 5 bolts through the base's and 5 each through the back. My thinking for bolting them together is....without grinding the welds off the joining bolts and un-doing them the cabinets won't get out of where they are no matter how hard you try! It was a struggle fitting in the larger one! My thinking is if the rawl bolts fail they still wont be able to get either cabinet out
