Dave-G
I have no experience with the 'others but BASC seems to have the loudest voice so I guess they (if any) are more likely to be heard than all the smaller voices.

Highlander
IMO you shouldn't just be joining an organisation for the insurance (although any is better than none) you should join one that wholeheartedly supports your right to shoot and enjoy ALL fieldsports. BASC is the one as far as I'm concerned because that's what they do...check out the latest; An EU proposal that might have required the UK government to introduce legislation to regulate the shooting of mallard has been withdrawn after it was challenged by both BASC & FACE. Thank the lord for that especially as the mallard is our most common sporting duck, just think what may still happen with other species and put your money behind the people who work in our favour. On another note I see that the Maltese government has cancelled the open season for dove and quail shooting this year. It's happening all over Europe and the UK is NOT immune. Support the organisation with the biggest and best clout to combat these situations or risk losing your sport! Unfortunately the other 'fieldsports' organisations simply don't have the money, resources or clout to do so and IMO should merge with BASC...United we stand, Divided we fall. Get your act together before it's too late.
anser2
BASC , BASAC , BASC its got its faults , but its the best shooting organisation we have by far.
dustyfox
Its your choice in what you choice, each organisation has different targets. I have joined the SGA not only because it is cheaper and the insurance but I am supporting the Gamekeepers, Stalkers and Ghillies that this organisation represents, they teach them, protect them from pressure groups etc Scottish Gamekeepers Association Just a branch of the NGO really but its £5 cheaper. Df

Df Well done, you've saved a fiver! or the price of a couple of boxes of cartridges. What about your sport??? and I'd question the value of their insurance too. Tam
If it's mainly for insurance - go with SACS they are the only ones that will cover any legal expenses
