everygoodnamewastaken
Im thinking of buying myself an air rifle. It has to be as cheap as possible ( Under £200) As strong as is legal without an f.a.c and a scope. What is the differance between the rifles which you break the barrel and the under leavers and side leavers? Please help me :(
everygoodnamewastaken
or yeah what caliber .177 or .22? I will use it for pigeon and targets :( And what magnification would the scope be? Many questions i expect answers!!!! lol :(

BigDave15
If I were you I would just get a cheap break barrell air rifle to start off with :(
everygoodnamewastaken
What kind? Calliber
Steve
Weihrauch HW80/HW90 Webley Tracker/Stingray BSA Supersport/Lightning Any of these break-barrels will do your job, and most can be found for about £200. The BSA Lightning can be bought new with a 3-9x40mm scope etc as a package deal for £200 in the Airgun mags. At legal limits, you'll be shooting out to about 40 yards max (on live quarry) so .177 will be OK. This calibre will also be better for target shooting as well. If you want any more info, just ask :( .
BigDave15
177 or 22 Are fine I would go for one of the B.S.A Guns as they are a good price and are dam nice guns to . Just like there moterbikes then :(
markadams
I started with a .177 BSA Supersport, it was a excellent rifle, I would highly recommend a BSA Lighting (Supersports bigger brother) with a 4x40 simmons scope. this would be perfect for pigeons. I now have a Theoben Rapid 7 MKII FAC costing near £1000 and I shot just as many rabbits and Pigeons with the Supersport. I hope this helps Mark. p.s. If you want any more info e-mail me on MarkJAdams@Yahoo.com.

everygoodnamewastaken
Im gonna wait till after christmas and get one of those webley raiders 2 shot :(. If in the future i get a fac is there anyway to make it stronger and get it on an fac?
daveman
Also, have a look at the Webley Xocet range. The only disadvantage of these is there's no safety catch.
rabbitstopper
I would'nt really bother with Accupels they horrid dirty things. IN vast majority of guns are Air Arms hunter and Air Arms Field pellets produce much tighter groups than really any other pellet in .22. Also H&N FTT are also great pellts in spring guns. neil
I've got to agree with rabbitstopper that H&n field target and trophy are good pellets and they seem to get on with my Webly Eclipse so they should agree with the raider aswell. :(
stu
i have a wr 177. its one of the best air rifles ive had best of luck on your shearch
red_stag88
i use a BSA Lightning .177, works like a beast! it being .177 it has a longer range but still the same ft/lbs of pressure. this website is not bad, it has some cool pree targets and lots of info: http://f4bscale.worldonline.co.uk/pest.htm hope this helps p.s. if you get fed up with air rifles, .22 LR are easyer to get put on a firearms license than say a .308, tey will kill just about anything, including foxes if you are a good shot. plus you cna get "fun" rifles as well, i have a pump action which holds 25 rounds, good for target practice and if you are just popping out for a shoot. NeVeTaS
If you want a good 2nd hand deal I would buy from the sales section of the airgun BBS. Also post your question out on their, they are much more airgun related. http://www.airgunbbs.com/
