Steve
There were 2 maggies chattering away to each other in the trees outside my house this morning. When I leapt out of bed and took a look I saw that they were sitting in seperate trees, at about the same height. I took a shot with the air rifle at the closest one which happened to be on the left, and snatched it pretty badly at the last moment (well it was 05:25). It turned out pretty good though. I snatched it so badly it missed the first bird and whacked the other one about 10 yards beyond it and about 12 inches to the right!! What a fluke!!  Of course I was always aiming for the other one you know :( :( .

Steve
You're right Resolve, probably not! Hymax, I bet your dog came back wagging his tail and thinking he'd just done something wonderful! Does anyone else have any funny stories? :(
PC Futrett
Was out foxing one night and saw 2 cubs playing around in a field. As I drove the jeep closer but they just kept thier distance at about 100-150 yards. I got myself into a position to take a shot at one of them. He was sitting looking straight at me with the other one rummaging about to my right. I dropped the one I was aiming at and the other pair of lights disapeared understandably after the bang. I walked up jumped the fence to look for the unfortunate one with a torch while my mate stayed in the jeep. I looked for about 15 minutes thinking I could not have possibly missed him. Then I found him, but lying beside him was his play partner lying in the exact same way and position about a yard apart. One was obviously dead due the the rather large hole a 22.250 makes at that range so I picked up the tail of the other one to have a look at him so see why he was dead also. Well I dont know who crapped themselves first me or the fox, because he tried to run off with me hanging on to his tail, leaping all over the place he was, but not a sound that was the strange thing. I dispatched him with my .22 I had on my shoulder but to this day I have been unable to explain what the live one was doing. My heart was thumping in my chest after that for an hour or so I can tell you.
Steve
That would have been worth seeing!!  I shot a crow once and went to pick him up about a half hour later. As I approached the ****** he flared his wings out to make himself look huge and promptly attacked the toe of my welly with some vigour. He took me so much by surprise that I turned and ran away - with the crow in hot pursuit! I must have ran about 20 yds before I caught a grip of myself and stood on it's neck. I had to take a sheepish look around to make sure noone had seen me!
