ject: air rifle pellets

Hi im ryan, i have tried all sorts of pellets i have a webley raider 22. you should try some prometheus pellets witch have worked the best for me as they dont squash when they hit a target. also if you geta fox in range you will kill them with them pellets in between the eyes iv done it many times. you should try it now because the cubs are around now an they will come within 20 yards with the wam whistle

Shooting fox with anything less than a CF in cleveland is a deffinate NO NO..

To use an airrifle is IMHO just bloody stupid even if it is FAC

I had my HMR named for fox and they rang me 18 months later to say they had made a mistake

and it should be for vermin only,

not to bothered as i usually use my 223 anyway..

It's in the 'Pick of the Forums' section, a moronic answer to a pretty dull question about airgun pellets for rabbit shooting. We have had a few clowns on here asking if their 25ft/lb Rapid will suffice for foxes, so the problem is closer to home than you may think.

Well there are big game air rifles suitable for buffalo and wild boar.

"Before the prefection of Gun Powder and firearm catiridges, Air Guns were used for hunting big game. They came in big calibers .30 cal. to .51 cal. and were used to hunt big game Deers and Wild Boars. These Air Rifles were charged using a hand pump, which had to be pumped anywhere from 100 times to 1,000 times to charge a air reservoir (tank) and gave speeds from 650 fps up to 1,000 fps to a high caliber lead balls and bullets."

No matter what they have been used for in the past - using any airgun for a fox is in my opinion cruel and wrong, no person in thier right mind wants to have any animal suffer, and i know there will be replies of "i can head shot it" but everyone has bad shots now and again, at least with a 223 or 243 if you are 2" off target the changces are the target will still die instantly, if you are 2" with an airgun you will have a running wounded fox anyone who uses an airgun for fox should be shopped and is an idiot. I personally don't like using my 22lr for foxes now but i carry HV rounds incase a sensible opertunity should arise while out for rabbits (by sensible i mean a sub 75 yard shot)

Regards,
