Cranfield
I can't stand the bloke, he strikes me as being pretentious and artificial. Especially since he has made loads of money.

Wookie
Channel 4 at 8:30 (he said knowing full well that he missed it last night _again_) I love that episode when he does the lamping. It's what got me started on the whole "Shoot it, gut it, cook it" thing I have now. I just wish that I had that sort of land to shoot on and an FAC so I could go after deer on it! red_stag88
Wookie, you'd hate stalking. All that excitement, tension and adrenalin!!! Cheers PP And those ball achingly cold mornings before the sun comes up and crawlling though a days worth of rained on mud and the occasional rambler (Right to roam you know, show 'em a .30-06. Tell them that an inexperienced stalker could confuse their ginger dog to be a fox at 200yrds) No, stalking is wonderful. All those things above make the kill so much more worth while
Guest Mr Pieman
Red, not many left here for you to kill I'm afraid
Wookie
I tell ye, when I grow up (ok, so I'm 30 now and it still hasn't happened) I'm going to treat myself to a weekend of stalking somewhere up in Scotland. I've always fancied trying it just the once. It's the fact that nothing is certain about it, you have to use a lot of skill and it takes a long time to get the perfect shot off that appeals. 100% challenge. Besides, now I'm getting a divorce, the chances of me getting in on the Moose cull in Finland are down to 0%! Dammit... Wookie

The Sniper
Well, the more I see of Hugh's latest TV programme, the more I think he has sold out to commercial gain. In the previous episodes before Beyond River Cottage, easily half of the programme was devoted to country pursuits or gathering natures bounty. This aspect of them I found very interesting. Now they hardly feature at all. Plus, if anyone saw the last episode, his techniques of knife handling leave a lot to be desired. When he was cutting the dross off his beeswax, I was cringing when he was drawing the blade towards his other hand.
ossa
River Cottage, a good show, sit glued to box when it's on, but I often wonder how far he would get without a film crew behind him! OSSA

ernyha
Hubertus a FAC is a fire arms certificate, required for single bullet guns over 12ft/lbs Dont know what that is in metric and a SGC is the shotgun certificate required for shotguns.
