Cartridges in London

Recommended Posts

Oh yes! Holland and Holland on them! :good:

Problem is this was the only time I could get some bullets before next Saturday and I could only do it in London.

It's a pretty silly thing to get "branded" otherwise. I'm normally not that much of a muppet

I think they're made by the Hull cartridge company

All H&H stuff is from Hull! I presume you got 'Royal Game' 1oz 1/16, 6 shot ?

Theres a website that has some details.

http://www.classicshooting.com/best_loads_for_best_guns.htm

They also stock a HUGE range at the ground in Northwood, everything from 10 bore black powder to 3 1/2 tungsten matrix.

If I'd read the thread in time I would have steered you firmly towards William Evans in St James. The shop sells both branded and standard factory ammunition, for reasonable prices. The gunroom is far more welcoming than the bigger showrooms of the principal London makers.

The most expensive prices, combined with the worst customer service I have ever received (in any shop, globally) can be enjoyed at Ray Ward Gunsmiths on Cadogan Square, off Sloane Street.

Bit of a trip out but Essex Gun is in Romford and stock the lot at pretty good prices. Worth a quick car trip if you're in the London area :good:

Aye, they're the receiver of 99% of my gun related expenditure.

I couldn't find any other gun shop near Canary Wharf/East London worth visiting, or any gun shops at all for that matter.

Not been there for ages, they used to be OK.

The problem was that I was down in London without a car. I've been to Essex Gun and It's out of the way even if you're in Essex (on a residential road IIRC) but a good shop.

If this situation arises again I'll go to William Evans.

The chap at H&H was very helpful and polite but I'll make sure in future i've got more shells than I think i'll need and buy them from the local shop!

That's a lot closer!

Never heard of them though, and they don't appear to have a website which makes me slightly wary.

I'll check them out though. :good:
