Pedro
I got my first one this morning. I could have had another, but they're such a gorgeous bird I didn't have the heart to shoot it. Also, this is the first year I've seen them on the farm, so maybe if a few are left, they might come back P.
Paul@Ribchester
I got one just before Christmas. I wish I had read how to cook it before I just did my usual (skin and gut it and put it in the freezer). I have seen a few since but I now wonder how I manages to get one in the 1st place........... Baldrick
I got my first woodcock on Saturday. Ended up taking a brace home, and cooking them to HenryD's recipe. Gastronomic bliss, and cracking sport to boot.

Billy.
Nice one. All you have to do now is pluck it, shove it's beak up it's bum and cook! Don't forget that woodcock brain on toast is a bit of a delicacy!
