tazkb
why is it when ever i wan't to reply to a post the mods close it, what's wrong with you lot it's a forum there are bound to be arguments and people who can't see eye to eye just let em to it unless it genuinely gets offensive. Like my thread "gobby" had the last word on MY thread which annoyed the ******* out of me. When someone has a dig at some one else it's only fair that person gets a say if that isn't going to be the case then don't bloody close it DELETE it that way the public who read these forums don't get the wrong ideas, because trust me they do and will. Harnser
Personally i dont want to be reading arguments between members of this forum and am glad when they do get closed down . I would rather be reading constructive informative posts and contributing to them if i can . There was a fabulous post about televisons last night ,simple but very informative ,thats the kind of posts that i want to be reading . There are a couple of devils advocates on here who seem to relish in winding people up ,why ? i dont know . Harnser .

Stop bitching, it's for the forums interest not your ego. We have all had threads closed when we are squaring up for a ruck and it's good job too. You can beat the ****e out of each other via pm, that's what I do and I know a few others that do so too. No offence intended tazkb, just telling it like it is. tazkb
The way I see it is this, these forums etc grow and tbh shooting forums such as this and the BBS etc have become vast areas of knowledge, most people are helpfull to a degree which can be from 1% to 110%. The only problem is that like in life as the comunity grows then there will be people who don't see eye to eye and then there will even be people who can't stand each other, that's life, if you don't like it tough. Now me, i'm a strieght bloke (so iv'e been told) a man who call's a spade a spade, I say it as I see it, now i'm not saying i'm allways right or there is nothing to learn, that would be rubbish, but i also read things as i see them and some times that means that I may see things differently to others, does that make me wrong or bad ? I don't think it does and i'm man enough to admit it when i'm wrong. There are those on here and other forums that have become good friends and without places like this I would have certainly not know as much as i do or some very nice (and some times very helpfull) friends. There is no need to close a thread everytime a couple of people have a bit of a set to providing it doesn't become either offensive or potentialy damaging to the sport or forum. we must remember that joe public can and does come accross these forums from time to time looking for amunition to use against us and our sport. the old addage "united we stand divided we fall" rings very true. our sport in many ways stands in a tenuous way with many members of the general public who believe guns are only good for one thing, how many people join BASC or the CA etc because they support us at parlimentary level? and not just to get that all important insurance cover

David BASC
I see where Taz and others are coming from. The issue is, and as Taz says, others see this forum and what better ammo for antis to use than the petty bickering that can come into what start off as very positive and informative threads. It makes us look silly - not the image we want to portray I am sure. Now to be honest I have been as guilty as many others in the past- but now take great care to moderate my posts - and if I have any issues with what someone has written I now get in touch with the by PM - so take the 'argument' off of the public forum and leave the public forum to informed debate - which is what I think it should be. However, we are all passionate people - some more than others, and it can sometimes be very hard to accept the fact that we will have different views on things - on some issues, like 'which association to join ' there are no rite or wrong answers - and no amount of bickering or protesting or point scoring is going to change that. We have seen one or two threads recently derailed by just one person making a statement that others have taken as being aggressive, and this then descends into that person and one or two others swapping 'ping pong' statements, which result in the mods closing the thread because it has gone so fat off topic. MM
Well, im going to say it, as nobody else wants to. There are far too many duddery old (and young, not to be age-ist) men, who get offended when they dont like something, and start ranting and dummy chucking. Its not the end of the world, just a bit of keyboard banter. Most of us have posted with a bit of beer in us, and it cant usualy be forgiven the next day. There are some folk who like to light the touch paper, and stand back. Just dont worry about it, as they will always be like that.

J@mes
Like my thread "gobby" had the last word on MY thread which annoyed the ******* out of me. I feel sorry for you my friend. If my life was so dull that I got annoyed at not having the last word in an argument on the internet, I would kill myself. Happy new year B)
tazkb
j@mes you see you know absolutley nothing about me so your making an asumption based on me being a regular guy, i'm not i'm disabled and quite often don't get out very much, at times like that these forums give me some thing to do (i'm not a telly fan) and killing yourself would be a bit cruel on all those you would leave behind
J@mes
Taz I appreciate that the internet is a way for people that cannot get out all the time to have contact with others, but seriously it is not worth getting agitated over. Its a strange place, no-one is who they appear to be, next to nothing is genuine. the ones with the mouth are usually the quietest ones sat in the corner of the pub. So don't let it worry you if someone else gets the last word, if someone gets ****** at you in an argument or anything like that, because as millions of people across the world say: Its just the internet.
