Mungler
Emmsy, tough break. Do you know how the mighty Catamong faired - for all his wisdom, insight and opinions I reckon his score would have been substantial. Interestingly, he said he was shooting it today but I can't see his card entered on today's results: http://www.cpsa.co.uk/results/2009/05/08/e...--day-2--friday He does have some dreadful luck keeping track of his cards
Peter De La Mare
Ya, I checked that last night as well. Even checked further down the order than I dared feared. 3rd time I ran all the way down to the bottom and still no mention of his score. In his defence, you don't get to handle your own card, the whole squad in on a single page which you take from stand to stand. It's possible that he offered to be the official card carrier and then 'accidently' fell in the lake* on the way back to the clubhouse and 'lost' the whole squads results! *the cards the CPSA use are waterproof, so everything isn't lost. Send in the Frogmen.

Catamong
I had to change days due to being stuck in an early morning meeting I simply couldn't get out of, didn't think I would be able to change days but managed to get a Saturday 9.00 slot, I thought it was a very good layout, certainly nothing out of range, only one "silly" stand, that was the pair of orange rabbits, a bit of a lottery, bouncing all over the place, (I missed 3 there). Hit every bird off the tower stands, but had 2 or 3 really bad stands to finish on a 76. A great shoot nevertheless, I watched Diggy miss 2 easy driven minis on stand 2 to finish on an 89, , he wasn't too happy when I suggested he'd left the door wide open for Cheryl to shoot a 95, which she may well do tomorrow. A good, testing shoot, just how they should be, I enjoyed it..!! Cat.

I got 85 (92 with handycrap ) I was joint second in AA when I left Had a go on the new Ball Trap on the way out - laaaaaaaaarf. **** me, that's not easy is it? . After a bad start, I got a load of first barrel hits, but I found if I didn't get it with the first barrel, it was long gone. Apparently the new skeet range should be open on Wednesday, I'll be having a pop at that

Mike Faux shot 90 (95 with handycrap) so I think he got it . I thought I was on for a big score today, straighted the first 3 stands and 4 others as well, but dropped some really divvy stuff, as usual. I've never shot Ball Trap or Skeet before, so I'm keen to give the skeet a go. It looks hellishly close range
Markio
Decent tough shoot at my local. 31ex50. Missed a couple of daft ones as is the norm. Highlight was seeing someone kick his gun slip in a huff because he didn't hit as many on one stand as he wanted. Brilliant. Stupid setup apparently, "no wonder no one comes here" etc etc. Thought it was a good setup actually, stuff to hit and stuff to work at! CPSA is **** at recording scores, neither you nor King George are on the results list on the site this evening. 76 isn't too bad I guess. I was expecting an 80 something though. Which stands gave you the most grief?

MC
Markio, You heard that guy, stupid bloody clays. Why they don't just break I don't know. Was bloody funny though. I did a 35/50 Mungler, 76 is a good score if like me you are in B class
Wookie
Well, sounds like you lot had fun... I took Ted up to Sporting Targets and played on the skeet for a while. Ended up doing two rounds (16 & 20), then just shooting the birds that I was consistently missing for a while. When I started getting those, I shot another round and scored... (wait for it) 19 Which is ****. I think I managed to hit the ones that were causing me problems earlier, but over-thought some others and missed behind them. In my defence though, I was shooting gun down AND was having to use the three second delay thingy as I was billy. Should I do it all again today? reddan
Hi, I got 34/50 in todays sporting. I know that isnt a massively impressive score compared to most, but it is my best yet. The crazy thing was I had 32 already going onto the last stand but just couldnt get on to them and scored 2. Dan

Dan I bet you'd have done better on the last stand, if you hadn't added up your card before you shot it You put pressure on yourself by doing that, and consequently fluffed the stand. One of my croneys did that to me once, by telling me that I was on for a big score when I went into the last stand. He joked that there was "no pressure" and I made a total **** of the stand

I dont deal with the pressure well, I have had loads of 9/10s with the miss on the last bird. That aside I just couldnt work out where I was going wrong and I am a bit mad at myself for not trying different things when I was missing. Bagsy
Shot Copfurn with Del Digweed this morning shooting 64 and 59 ex 80 respectively. Interestingly I started out slow again then managed to straight the last few stands (1, 2 and 4). Seems I need a warm up shoot before the shoot
Mungler
Took doggy to gun dog training and then shot Copfurn with Elvis, Raja Clavata and Al. Was running late and forgot me gun. Used the others' guns on rotation (cheers all) and had a nice fun round; bit of messing and double barrelling. Scores : Mung 63, Elvis 62/61, Alan 61 (long story involving a shoot off with Elvis which Elvis won) following by Raja on a 49.
Nicky T
Shot a 53 at the Open today. Plus points: - Liked High Lodge shooting ground immensley - Excellent diversity of targets on offer - Squaded shooting is actually pretty fun - No wind - Sunshine all day - Roast Beef baguette at the end of the day! Negatives: - How some shooters manipulate aka bully the refs - The fact that some numpty (me) decided to change one of his chokes last night in a spur of the moment fit of madness (never again)!!!! - Long waits at certain slower stands that could have easily been avoided with a little thought as to how the stands were numbered. Wookie
His sexuality, he's from Suffolk after all So says "Mr. Bi" from Essex... Don't you have pampass grass outside your house Mung? Having a quick look at the card from yesterday, I seem to have issues with Position 2 high bird, Position 3 low bird, Position 4 low bird on the double and Position 5 low bird. I'll have to get these in the spreadsheet tomorrow to give a more complete answer though.

It didn't look like a hard set up but was one of those tricky blighters. It was won on a 48. Wookie, Give the skeet a swerve it is for benders.
