seisobs
Had a day out on the rape today with my new extrema 2, hundreds of pigeons around but they did not want to come in to the deeks. Packed in at 14:30 with just 6, they were all high birds. Went to shoot feral pigeons outside a couple of barns and managed four. Overall impression with new new gun was a bit dissapointing as I had 4 or 5 misfires, probably not run in yet, intend going out on the clays to fire a couple of hundred cartridges to wear it in. Any suggestions welcome. Jake.
Trussman
Why not run a few heavys or magnums through it, just to loosen the action a bit?
seisobs
Yup, worth a try. Thanks. Jake.

Cranfield
When you say "misfires" do you mean that you pulled the trigger and the cartridge never fired, or do you mean that the gun fired, but the cartridge never recycled ? Tommo
I've seen loads whilst out with the rifle today, none looking like they had fed (i say this as they were acting sort of doscile fly slow, low and not really reacting when they saw us with a gun!) None l saw were feeding on the rape fields around where l was shooting, most were sat in low trees and only moving when we got with 50 yards! (l might also add it was -3c at 5pm, and there was a layer or 6" of snow covering everything! T

Hi Cranfield Cartridge never fired (32 gram #6) home load (not mine) looks like dodgy primers on these as there was an indentation on the primer cap. Also happened with a few D&J 32 gram #6. Hopefully it is because the gun is new. Jake
labrador
forget the home loads go to a clay ground with a couple of hundred clay cartridges and the gun will soon be cycling just fine.
Tam
Hi Jake, when I got my Extrema 2 I fired a couple of hundred 36g through it - it will cycle anything now ???
Greenhunter
It could be that it doesn't like cheaper/worn carts like mine.Have had a couple of miss-fires and cycling probs lately but haven't used it since I gave it a good clean(doesn't apply to yours obviously) so I'll see next time out with some D&J's! seisobs
Went out at the clay ground today and fired 2 X 53 gram cartriges then 100 X 28 gram cartridges through it without one misfire, had 2 cartriges destroyed when cycling / ejecting after being fired, the bottom of the cartrige broke off (D & J)suspect a dodgy seal on the cartridges. Gave the Extrema a good clean when I got home and put a few drops of oil on the working parts. Hopefully it will be OK as I am out on a field of rape tomorrow that's being hammered by pigeons. Hopefully a good day, will post pics if it turns out OK. Jake.
