SPARKIE
i did it to wikedandlazy while pigeonshooting he never even realised that the cart was that light when loading it into his gun only had live primer in a reloaded shell with a overlay card and some metalic conffetti....i was crying and so was his son when he shot it he thought he had clipped a pigeon he aimed at then all the stringy confetti blown down round him.... Floating Chamber
I am sorry if I sound a wet blanket, but messing about with shells for prank purposes and taking guns to weddings is irresponsible. If a wad gets stuck up the barrel, the following shot could maim or kill. Party Poppers are a cheaper and safer alternative.

MJN
thanks to this I now have the ability to make one of these, be carefull when googling , as they are watching you !!!!! "As stated before, it is also a single-use device; once fired, you merely dispose of the incriminating evidence by tossing it into a convenient dumpster, or even by incinerating it. mikee
started loading some confetti shells last night, tested a few and some were quite good, will do some fine tuning today to ensure each shot will push all the materials out of the barrel, the old boys at the bowls club must have wondered what was going on as some drifted over the hedge on the breeze mikee
Cranfield
I would seriously check with the local Police, at least tell them what you intend. I am not sure where you are going to be firing these cartridges, but it probably contravenes the "dishcharging a gun in a public place" regs. Lloyd90
How long before someone shoots someone else in the face with one ? "Its only confetti" Just seems stupid to me

mikee
having read some of the negative replies ive asked a few questions, the vicar has given his approval as long as the confetti is paper and not the shiney stuff that wont rot down and as long as the guns dont go in the church and are given out used by the door in the arch and then collected up and taken away, he has had arches of guns at the church before although not fired and doesnt see a problem, the lad who is getting married lives near the church and even does the rabbit and mole clearance in the church yard. however i will get the groom to check with plod before i give any shells out. as for another nail in the coffin of shooting, i think that is a bit strong, this is a very rural area where almost everyone has a shotgun and/or is involved in shooting in some way or another, in a city church i could see this maybe giving the wrong impression to onlookers. ive seen stuff on here that portrays shooting and shooting people far worse light than some confetti being fired over the bride and groom for a bit of fun at a wedding. mikee
Floating Chamber
I can see the headlines..... 'SHOTGUN PRANK GOES HORRIBLY WRONG' 'A well-meaning wedding guest's prank went horribly wrong today when modified shotgun cartridges, stuffed with confetti, got mixed up with dangerous live shells'. Floating Chamber
what can go wrong ? killed by flying confetti ? doubt it i doubt the person in ? is going to be making the mistake of getting live shells mixed up What if he was a drunken 'Hooray Henry' who wanted to get 'in on the scene'? Guns are for shooting sports, NOT for Church services. Things CAN go wrong when you LEAST expect them to! And they went wrong in 1977 for my now late Father and a Browning Auto. He was crippled for life in a NON-SHOOTING EVENT accident. People DO get careless. Edited June 8, 2009 by Floating Chamber
stephen72
just don't shoot one at any body!! a guy around here last year was dumping the shot out of 20 gauge shells and shooting them in the air on new years eve, all was fine till he got the bright idea of shooting his buddy with one, the plastic wad penetrated the guy's jacket and his chest, nearly killed him, be safe and have fun Stephen
Tiff-TRG
Floating Chambers and Others, you really need to get a life and stop being such a wet blanket! You obviously don't live in a rural area that is used to guns being accepted, or possibly are just an old ****. Here you can still go for a pint with a gun being broken over your arm, pheasant shoots close the country lanes so they can get an extra drive in or the local rifle range that closes a small road to allow the shoot to go ahead. None of which is even noticed and is considered as normal. The people that will be a 'Nail in the coffin for shooting' are people like you that wish to stop anything you don't like. I've loaded many confetti cartridges and so long as you treat them the same as 'real cartridges' you won't have any issues and they certainly ad a certain spark to any wedding! Mungler
Anyone who knows me knows I like a joke and can take a joke. However, do you know what, this is something I would never consider. I have heard of these confetti shells (home loaded mind you) going wrong and sticking a buldge in the barrels (balling up and blocking on the way out). My real concern would be someone treating the gun like a giant party popper and actually pointing it at someone. That and anything homeloaded or a cartridge mix up would make for a very unncessary and totally avoidable accident. Plenty of other things to use...... shotgun would not be on my list. But hey, I don't know you and won't be going to the wedding, so no skin off my nose and all that. Edited June 8, 2009 by Mungler
