Nicky T
Went down to Doveridge yesterday with my mate Pete for a registered 100 bird sporting and it felt like we stuck out like sore thumbs because neither of us had our names embroidered on our shooting jackets Obviously I can appreciate that having your name on it would assist the ref's as to who is shooting etc but are there any other benefits to draw us out of annonymity? Several shooters also had nicknames embroidered on theirs so it made us both chuckle to see a 60+ year old "Wolverine" and a "Goose" who'd flown the nest many seasons ago too! What are your thoughts? Flashman
Do those with embroidered tabards look down on you? Are they all shooting snobs?? Perhaps they sneer at those of us who remember our names and therefore don't need it written, special needs stylee, on our coats??? PS: it's spelled "realising." They didn't look down on us at all - quite the opposite actually; more than happy to assist us. Well spotted on the "realising"
Dunkield
I stood behind a bloke with 'shuffler' written on the back of his jacket years ago. We thought it may have been a nickname his mates had given him based arround five knuckles etc. It all became clear once he got in the cage and loaded up he did some wierd dance moving his feet arround like a demented chicken scratcing for scraps of food before each shot
Chard
I have no burning desire to tell the world who I am My mate has the name of his company embroidered on the back of his vest, free advertising I suppose. Trouble is, he's not the best shot on the planet, so I'm not convinced that it works for him, who knows? We prefer a more temporary means of ID at Worsley Edited May 18, 2009 by Chard
beretta
if your lucky enough to get sponsered then you might have to advertise your name and sponsers details.

ZB Couldn't agree more! if your lucky enough to get sponsered then you might have to advertise your name and sponsers details. Valid reason, but i don't think 'Goose' & 'Ice Man' count. Chard
There's a chap at Worsley whose surname is Lott and I seem to remember he's had "Mister Lott" embroidered on his Edited May 18, 2009 by Chard
Mad Scientist
Its too late Nick. Sent mine off today to get "Pistol Pete" on the back. In pink. I'll get yours done with "Texas T" for Christmas. There was one guy with about 3 sponsors on his back. Fair play though, he shot something like a 98 ex 100!
zippo
I dont have my name on my vest, I used to have "OLD ***" on the back, unfortunatly it stuck!, I shot Doveridge Sunday, 72X100.

As the old saying goes, "Don't mess with Texas" I'll have to start working on securing some sponsorship from a Texan BBQ chain Roll on Christmas! cheryl
I have "Sooty" embroidered on the back of my skeet vest and I didn't know it was there until someone pointed it out. Mates playing pratical jokes me thinks. It's only a laugh and some of the nicknames are quite funny.
MC
Blimey Cheryl, You must concentrate hard on those birds (Targets for the CPSA nerds) if you didn't notice anyone embroidering your skeet vest. If I were you you I would be careful whose company you keep. That Catamong could never be trusted.
