at last a red letter day for ME

Seems a while since I had a good day on the pigeon (crows have given me the sport of late) went out today on chance, weather was iffy showers but windy, so ok, sat for about 45 mins watching a couple of fields, saw a couple of good flight lines being established and watched the birds drop into what I that was a patch of flattened wheat,

Anyway thought ok I will give it a go, thinking less is more in these conditions so two bouncers only (shells on top of crop have never worked for me, and if I had placed deeks in the sparse patches I reckoned the birds would have been on top of them before they saw them anyway) set up in what turned out to be a sparse patch of wheat (been a wet patch) bouncers about 30 yards apart and twenty yards out, my hide set up dead center, yes not textbook but as I stood and watched the birds came straight in between and they turned fro every quarter to go directly over them, so I thought that will do for me?

Got set up up at about 10.30am packed up just before 4pm with 150 on me trusty clicker, had I another shooter with me 300 birds should have been more than possible as they were coming in in four or fives giving me a chance on a couple and the others were gone ( did my best I phoned round!!!!! asking for help)and of course I missed my fare share.

worth noting that the bouncers I used (yes a blatant plug) are those mag357 and hawkeye knock up I know others have done them but these two have perfected them and the bodies are flocked  best bit of kit I have used in along time. :whistling:

Cheers KW

Well done K sorry I could not make it yesterday but glad the floaters did the trick for you. Even now I can't believe how good they are at bringing the woodies in....great day mate, hope it's a sign of the season to come.
