fac application form

Recommended Posts

The £50.00 for a FAC is correct with a renewal fee of £40.00 every 5 years after that (At current prices). The payment should be made to whatever Police Authority you come under NOT the Chief Constable. There should have been a seperate price list enclosed with the application form, if there wasn't check with your local police issuing authority.

Hope this helps.

This is an awkward thing to answer as I am relatively new to owning a SGC and a FAC so the only thing that I can suggest is what I think most people would suggest. As I understand it you have applied for a SGC but you want to change your application from a SGC to a coterminous certificate for both SGC and FAC. If I am right and you have already put in for your SGC but it has not yet been issued then phone your FEO at the earliest possible instance and explain the situation and ask him if it would be possible to cancell your SGC application while you make a fresh application for a coterminous certificate. I'm sure that others will correct me if I am not giving the best advice!

I have a question relating to the subject discussed above.

I'm looking to apply for my SGC in the coming weeks. I'd be interested in applying for the FAC so that I can get a rifle at a later date; But currently have no official permissions to support the FAC application. Would a coterminous application be a waste of time?

Cheers,

Mike

they wont grant you a fac for shooting over land without any land.

Thanks for the helpful reply. I don't have a genuine interest in joining a rifle club to be honest. I'm probably better off sticking with my springer for the moment, I don't actually have any gripes with it just something more powerful would be tempting.

Cheers,

Mike

smiiithy, if you join a rifle club you have good reason to be granted a FAC for use on "approved ranges". This takes time though - up to six months :good:

I simply google my area and then add firearms...so for me it is thames valley firearms, that will usualy bring your police firearms page.

They should have costs and such, there you can also print of the forms yourself thats what I did for my last variation.

P.S. in relation to smiiithy, they no longer see, range shooting as a good reason to posses expanding ammunition so you would have to variation again later to be able to get expanding ammunition for vermin and ground game, you also cant put range shooting, vermin and ground game on your FAC and just give a club as your authority becuase they would want to know where you can shoot the game aswell.
