It wasnt excally refined being a 49cc four stroke, but it would do about 45mph which wasnt bad considering!

ziplex
I had an AP50 Suzuki, what lovely days they were weren't those FS1E's 4 straight down on the gears? sure it was when I drove one all those years ago. A mate had a Fantic 50 which was before I was old enough for my own moped who said if I could start it I could have it!................ I tried and tried over and over to start it and after a week or so gave up, I was gutted. My long suffering mother insisted it get gone from the driveway and I reluctantly gave it back only to find another kid happily riding it around a few days later, apparently it was a small lug type 'keyway' which held the magneto? on the shaft properly and cost pence!.........I was truly a very unhappy kid for a long while Edited September 24, 2009 by ziplex

Evil Elvis
But cleared 55mph Stuart, that's all that mattered in those days! Put anti vibration grips on mine, a micron exhaust and som k& n conversion thingy in the carb( dad did it bless him, and he did something to the gear ratios, he was an engineer......) would get 70mph out of it but despite the grips could still feel the vibrations for hours later!!!!!! Best bike I ever owned pound for pound!!
huntercarbine
i had an ar50, put 80 barrel in it, was awesome for a week. at 17 had a tzr which was (ahem) de-restricted by botching the powervalve open. ran rough till 9000 rpm then bbaaaaaaaaaahhh, micron as well. a mate had a beautiful rd125 marlboro, built by Norbo who was an rd specialist but he rode it like a girl. another mate had a gamma 125 that did 105mph. my tzr did
